Utilization of documentary film as a source of historical learning for multimedia based junior high school students
Abstract

History records past events and knowledge, which contains wisdom values and can be used to train intelligence, shape the attitudes, character and personality of students. Substantially, historical material contains heroic values, exemplary, pioneering, patriotism, nationalism, and an unyielding spirit that underlies the process of shaping the character and personality of students. The need to combine technology and education encourages a variety of creativity that appears as a motivation and paradigm to carry out education that is not monotonous and has high material absorption. Through audio-visual media, students are increasingly excited to learn and understand history. In this way, the teacher of the first middle school history subject used documentary films to increase the enthusiasm of students to study history. By using this film, students are expected to be able to understand and be able to analyze each problem being studied.
